The monthly meeting for the Lake Highlands Area Early Childhood PTA will be held Wednesday, September 8th, 9-11:30 a.m. at Highlands Christian Church, 9949 McCree. The program at this meeting will be "Helping Infants & Preschoolers with Sensory Issues" by Kathleen Morris, nationally recognized speech-language pathologist. A Community book drive to benefit the Madeline apartments located at 9855 Shadow Way-on the east side of Audelia near Forest Lane. The clubhouse has a learning center for kids to go after school and they do not have any books in the learning center. Used books that good condition are accepted.
Join Operation Kindness for its 16th annual Dog Day Afternoon at Flag Pole Hill on Saturday, September 11th from 10am-3pm. This free and fun festival celebrates dogs and includes unique vendors with freebies, free goodie bags, canine contests for great prizes, a dunk tank with local celebrities, free face painting for kiddos, pet CPR demonstrations, Dallas Dog and Disc performances, and free microchipping for the first 45 dogs!
