Food Truck Field Day 2012 - Roll Up and Chow Down at the first annual Food Truck Field Day on March 31st from 11:00 until 3:00 at Stonewall Jackson Elementary. Ten of Dallas’ favorite mobile eateries will descend upon the Stonewall field for a day of tasty treats, tunes and more. $10 tickets can be purchased the day of the event and all proceeds benefit Stonewall Gardens. Ticket price does not include food purchases. Event Location: Stonewall Jackson Elementary, 5828 Mockingbird Lane.

Oak Lawn United Methodist Church hosts its Blessing of the Animals on Saturday, March 31st at 11:00 a.m. This annual event for our community’s beloved pets is a free event celebrating our loveable four-legged friends. Oak Lawn UMC’s pastors will be on hand to say a special blessing for your pet. Come meet and frolic with other pet lovers and receive a special certificate for your animal’s blessing. Blessing of the Animals will be celebrated, rain or shine, Saturday March 31 at 11:00am on the grassy lot behind the church, located at 3014 Oak Lawn Avenue. The University Park Preschool Association will host their 12th annual Spring Market on Wednesday, April 4th from 8am-5pm at University Park Elementary School (3505 Amherst - Lovers Lane west of Hillcrest). This one day of shopping fun and mingling with friends is normally attended by 800 people. Approximately 90 vendors with unique jewelry, children and adult clothing, artwork, dome decor and other items fill the gym and outdoor venues selling their products and services. All proceeds raised are donated to the University Park Elementary School. Tickets are $6 online at http://uppa.org/shop and $7 at the door.

The Dallas Film Society will once again highlight the love of film in Dallas as they present the Sixth Annual Dallas International Film Festival to a local, national and international audience, April 12 – 22. Approximately 180 films from all over the world will be screened over 11 days. Tickets go on sale at the Prekindle Box Office and online to the public on March 22. Food Truck Extravaganza at Hope Cottage, 4209 McKinney Ave at the corner of Fitzhugh & McKinney. This event will be 11:00 am-2:00 pm on Thurs. April 12. Since when has your lunch paid off so much? Chow down at Hope Cottage's Food Truck Extravaganza & enjoy a change of pace while also helping children in Foster Care find adoptive homes. Featured Food Trucks are Jack's Chow Hound, 3 Men and a Taco, Easy Slider, & Trailercakes. A portion of each sale will benefit Hope Cottage Foster to Adopt Program.

DISD’s Mount Auburn Elementary School is celebrating its 90th anniversary with a celebration at the school on April 14th from 10:00 am-12:00 pm. Mount Auburn Elementary opened on January 2, 1922 with 12 teachers and 375 students. Originally they were the Mount Auburn Mounties, but today they are the Mustangs. Past students and staff are welcome and encouraged to attend the celebration. Please contact the school if you would like to be included.
